Our chef and entire Nutrition Services staff are dedicated to providing a wonderful dining experience with appealing meals.
Our guests may enjoy a “Make-Your-Own” deli sandwich, a salad bar with fresh toppings, and fresh and delicious entrées, including vegetarian dishes and soups.
Our Chef
St. John’s Executive Chef Brian M. Scalfaro is a graduate of the California Culinary Academy/Le Cordon Bleu of San Francisco and has lived and studied within the Tuscan region of Italy. Chef Brian’s focus on simple elegance and commitment to excellence are evident in his innovative menus, which appeal to any palate.
Well-Being through Healthy Eating and Local Sustainability
Keeping your well-being in mind during your stay or your visit, we strive to provide you with fresh, homemade meals cooked from scratch. Our well balanced meals include seasonal ingredients and are prepared by St. John’s executive chef.
Working together with local agricultural groups, St. John’s Chef focuses on local sustainability and carbon foot printing. St. John’s Chef also educates consumers on the importance of maintaining environmental health, economic profitability, and social and economic growth.
St. John’s Regional Medical Center (SJRMC) Cafeteria
SJRMC’s cafeteria, known as Kate’s Landing Café, is located on the Garden Level of the hospital.

- Lunch: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
- Dinner: 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Saturday – Sunday
- Breakfast: 6:30 a.m. – 9 a.m.
- Lunch: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
- Dinner: Closed
St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital (SJPVH) Cafeteria
SJPVH’s cafeteria is located on the Main Level of the hospital.
Hours:
Monday – Friday
- Breakfast: 6:30 a.m. – 9 a.m.
- Lunch: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
- Dinner: 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Saturday – Sunday
- Breakfast: 6:30 a.m. – 9 a.m.
- Lunch: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
- Dinner: closed
Vending Machines
At SJRMC, vending machines are available 24 hours a day with assorted sandwiches, drinks, and snacks. The machines are located in the vending room adjacent to Kate’s Landing on the Garden Level of the hospital; in the ICU Waiting Room; in the Emergency Room; and on the third floor in the Family Waiting Room.
At SJPVH, vending machines are available with assorted sandwiches, drinks, and snacks. The machines are located down the hall from the Admitting area, near the Emergency Room, and in the cafeteria.
