JUNE 29 AUXILIARY INSTALLATION BRUNCH

Camarillo, Calif. (June 29, 2010) – The St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital Auxiliary held its annual installation of officers brunch on June 29 at the Camarillo Ranch Red Barn, at which the Auxiliary presented St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital with a check for $55,000. These funds will benefit patient care programs at St. John’s.

At the event, new Auxiliary officers were announced, and attendees were recognized for their service with year pins, indicating the length of time in which they have volunteered at St. John’s. In total, members of the St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital Auxiliary logged 29,400 volunteer hours in fiscal year 2009. Volunteers share their time and talents to positively impact patients and visitors at St. John’s. Volunteers also serve the employees and medical staff at the hospital by performing clerical work, providing messenger and delivery services, staffing the admitting and reception desks, and other necessary duties. Through special projects, such as creating craft items for newborns and their families or creating flower arrangements, the volunteers support the mission and values of St. John’s by raising spirits and helping maintain a positive, healing environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

The Auxiliary raises money to directly benefit patient care at St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital. “At St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital, our volunteers are crucial to the healthcare services we offer,” said Sharon Jones, director of Volunteer Services at St. John’s. “They make our hospital a better place by offering hope and a positive environment to patients, their families, and St. John’s employees and administration. We are grateful for the care they provide and for their consistently selfless service.”

The St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital Auxiliary installed the following officers for the 2010 - 2011 fiscal year:
