Oncology Nurse Navigator
Oncology Nurse Navigator
St. John’s is the First Hospital to Provide an Oncology Nurse Navigator in Western Ventura County
St. John’s Hospitals are proud to provide all our cancer patients a full-time, bilingual oncology nurse navigator to assist in managing your cancer care. The nurse navigator provides a point of contact for patients and is here to help guide cancer patients through the entire treatment process – from the initial diagnosis to the survivorship stage and beyond. This oncology nurse practitioner has experience working with a variety of cancers including breast, prostate, colon, lung, thyroid, lymphomas, leukemia and more. She has the knowledge and experience to assist you with scheduling your appointments, providing you educational resources and helping cope with any potential side effects that may occur during treatment. The oncology nurse navigator works closely with the entire cancer team and serves as a constant presence for patients during treatment. Studies have demonstrated improved patient outcomes with a cancer diagnosis when a nurse navigator is involved. Cancer patients can come to St. John’s Cancer Center of Ventura County to see the nurse navigator and to find information and resources in a relaxed and caring atmosphere.
