St. John's California Neuroscience Institute
(CNI), located in the medical office building adjacent to St.
John's Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, is dedicated to providing
a nurturing, therapeutic environment for the treatment of
neurological disorders and pursuing research into the cause and
cure of neurological disease. Our CNI provides educational
materials and personal counseling, and facilitates
support
groups for family, caregivers and patients.
The neurologists and neurosurgeons at St.
John's have embraced innovative treatments and procedures over the
past several years. These doctors are leaders in state-of-the-art
neurosurgical and radiosurgical interventions from brain tumors to
Parkinson's Disease.

Procedures
The neurologists and neurosurgeons at our
CNI have treated a variety of conditions such as aneurysms,
head injuries, spinal traumas, degenerative spine disease, spinal
stenosis, congenital disorders of the brain and spine, and spinal
reconstructive
surgery
with state-of-the-art,
innovative
techniques.
Support Groups and
Seminars
St. John's provides numerous
support
groups for patients suffering from Parkinson's, Trigeminal
Neuralgia, chronic back pain, and brain tumors. They also provide
seminars on relevant topics such as caregiving, Young Onset
Parkinson's, and Dystonia.
Programs and
Services
St. John's Regional Medical Center and St.
John's Pleasant Valley Hospital offer an array of services and
procedures to educate, inform, and help patients.
Tests, including Cerebral Angiography, CT
Scan, Electroneurodiagnostic tests, and MRI scans provide the
clinical data necessary to allow neurologists and pediatric
neurologists to devise the treatment plan.
Safety and prevention programs are aimed at
preventing serious and debilitating problems from occurring.
Education and Outreach
The Institute's communication and outreach
coordinator directly facilitates or is affiliated with 18
support groups, including groups for Parkinson's, for caregivers,
trigeminal neuralgia, deep brain stimulation and dystonia.
In addition, annual patient conferences are
held on Parkinson's, essential tremor and dystonia.
