St. John's Health Ministries Program provides bilingual (English and Spanish) health and wellness programs for community members.
The Basic Needs Program serves the poor and disenfranchised in the community. The Parish Health Ministries serve the congregations of different faiths in the community to provide health and wellness programs at the parish level. Various programs and services are offered through these programs, including:

Healthy Beginnings
Are you pregnant? Do you have Medi-Cal? Are you Medi-Cal eligible?
If so, you are invited to enroll in St. John's Healthy Beginnings Program, which offers health education, nutrition counseling, social services, vitamins and pregnancy and breastfeeding classes. We also offer pregnancy tests and help with Medi-Cal applications.
Make an appointment to enroll – your baby deserves a healthy beginning. Healthy Beginnings provides bilingual (English and Spanish) health and wellness programs for MediCal-eligible pregnant women in our community.

Chronic Condition Management
Are you or a loved one living with a chronic condition? St. John’s Healthy Living with a Life-Long Condition program is a free six-week program that offers health management and health improvement information and strategies for those living with a life-long condition, or those caring for someone with a life-long condition. The program will help you learn to:
- Set achievable goals
- Make daily tasks easier
- Control your pain
- Deal with fatigue, frustration and isolation
- Start an exercise program and increase your energy level
- Handle stress and relax
- Eat well
- Use medications effectively
- Solve problems and meet personal goals
- Talk to your doctor about your health

- Make choices about your treatment

Immunizations
Getting your immunization is one way to avoid influenza (flu) and stay healthy. St. John's has immunization clinics each fall throughout the community. Call us at (805) 988-2865 for a listing of immunization clinic dates and times.
Shots for Adults
Many adults have not received the recommended vaccinations to protect them against certain diseases. Low-cost Tetanus-Diptheria, Measles, Mumps and Rubella, and Hepatitis B immunizations are available at St. John's.
Shots for Kids
Immunizations for children are offered through St. John's Shots for Kids Program and are free of charge. There is no charge to assess immunization needs.
